Life

I woke up to a bright shining blue sky day with snow blanketing the ground. This isn't our first snow of the year but it's the first one I've been in town for. In the past two months or so, when I wasn't at home, I've been in the following places on separate trips: San Diego/Laguna Beach, California - Morenci, Arizona - Phoenix/Sedona, Arizona - Paris, France (vacation) - Tucson, Arizona - Flagstaff, Arizona. Philippe has also been on the road a lot: Orlando, Florida – Montreal, Canada – Paris, France, Germany and The Netherlands. Poor Bisbee has had to rely on the love of neighbors, friends and CityBark LoDo staff. Yes, he is a very hip dog, hangs out in LoDo. For you non-Denverites this stands for the ultra-cool Lower Downtown area where mostly loft dwellers frequent martini bars or microbrew pubs when not climbing the rock wall at REI or kayaking on the Platte River.

In-between it all, Dad came out for a visit. While he was here we made huge strides in remodeling the basement. Dad was proud that the four of us (Terry, Natalie, Philippe and the 1924 brick bungalow itself) learned to work together, listen to each others opinions/desires (the most difficult part) and work within the house’s limitations, to create a comfortable living space. It required many on-the-spot decisions. With lots of thought and effort, most notably, some compromise by each of us, we accomplished an amazing amount in six days. To quote Dad in the end "all of us and our relationships, had evolved possitively... wow!"
