Workaholic Tendancies

Ever felt that wobbly sensation between work and time off, when you have been working hard for an extended period of time… weeks, months… knowing you must stay on task given what's before you. Then the period ends. It feels a bit like stepping off a boat after you’ve been at sea for awhile. Your legs jell-o, your stomach rolling. Part of you wants to get back on the boat just so you will feel better, normal. You were in the groove. Your whole being knew what to do next, how to behave, single-pointed focus on the task. Back on land, in your life, you're off-balance. There's a million possibilities for how to spend your free time. None feels more pressing than the next. You have been ignoring all of your personal needs for awhile. Work induced survival tactics have you on autopilot. You want to do everything so you do nothing or check your Blackberry for no reason. Somehow priorities and reality got askew. Work logically seemed more important than those creative, physical or emotional, activities that fill your cup and shine from inside of your soul as pure happiness. How do you find your way back to those small rituals and important relationships that were put on hold?
