Hotel Colorado

May has been a revolving door of visitors at casa Natalie. Starting with Kari Erkilla a friend from high school now living in Seattle. Her first trip to Denver was on the same week I logged 18 years in Colorado. We co-created an altar to friendship at the Rhythm Sanctuary dance and realized we'd been friends for 22 years (brilliant!). The best day of her visit we bicycled downtown following a trail of points of public art from the larger than life milk jug to a pile of red sandbags titled "National Velvet" to the big blue bear peaking in the windows of the Convention Center, through the Cinco de Mayo festival and finally to the Denver Art Museum where we took in the exhibit Psychedelic Experience: Rock Posters from the San Francisco Bay Area 1965-71.

With one night to change out the sheets on the guest bed, Aaron Seifert a friend from my many years of traveling to Arizona for work arrived. He had a conference downtown Denver and was staying longer to take in some sights. It was great to catch up and made me miss my many friends in Arizona.

A few days after Aaron left, Mom and Grandma Eva arrived for a week. Friday morning we spend a couple of hours in the Botanical Gardens with a photographer friend Povy getting photos taken of three generations. It was beautiful and fun. My house is still full. Tonight we returned from a couple of days in Raton, New Mexico where Gram and I go every year to spruce up the family plot. This year cousin Rob, wife Meggy and son Ryan met us for some SERIOUS OUT LOUD living in Raton (joking). Love the cute little town but 2 days is definately enough.
